This year, the J. Wayne Stark Galleries is thrilled to introduce an exciting new three-part approach to our summer tours: an outdoor tour of campus sculptures, followed by a visit to the nationally renowned Visualization Lab in the College of Architecture, and finishing with an activity providing students the opportunity to create wire buildings, drawing on the information learned throughout the event. The goal of the program is for children/youth to develop an appreciation of the elements used in sculpture: line, form, composition, positive and negative spacing and color, which will be reinforced through The Visualization Lab tour and the art activity.
The summer tours will be hosted Monday through Friday, over a one month period from July 6th - July 31st, from 9 am - 4 pm. Each tour will last 2 hours. This year’s program is designed for children 8 years and older.
Registration for the summer program will run from April 9th until May 29th. You can register for the tours by calling us at 979-845-8501 or by e-mailing beverly@uart.tamu.edu
